Virgin's Protection Magic Released, and a slew of patches

So VPM has been released. I've also been hard at work with some highly experimental stuff for getting decent machine translations out of the game. Lots of versions of stuff came out tonight.

Hopefully the current ones work.

Virgin's Protection Magic Translation v5

Not the fabled one with integrated hooks, but just a fix to some syntax errors.

Virgin's Protection Magic Translation v4

And so, following Searothonc's announcement that release is on the 18th, I've released an updated translation patch which takes care of all the dialogue in maps in the demo. Hopefully this means that pretty much everything up until the end of Act 2 is translated, although I'm not certain on this (due to the difficulties in knowing what's actually in Act 2 without seeing it!)

A hypothetical v5 patch would only add some specialised text hooking scripts. It may happen, but I'm not sure I've got the time for it.

Virgin's Protection Magic Translation Patch v3

An update has been released. Yaaaay.

The patch should also be a partial translation (UI, Items, enemies, skills etc) for the full game. I believe this is the first time a complete partial translation has been done before the release of a game.

Virgin's Protection Magic Demo translation v2

A minor update that fixes text overflow issues.

Also removes non-important files (mainly SVGs) from the patch ZIP file to reduce file size.

First Project up here

The first project is up here. This is the Virgin's Protection Magic demo translation, and you can see it as a link in the bar just below the title. Go look at it.

I'll put up my other project later, but doing this one took longer than I thought it would...

Beginning another Blog

So, I'm starting up another blog. This one is for my translation projects, and is very definitely not safe for work. While the system of using Hongfire threads is kinda neat, it makes setting up pages harder than it should be.

So here it is - a blog for my translations. Yay
